Coors outsources marketing print to Williams Lea in seven figure deal

Date: 20 September 2008
LONDON, 20 September 2008 - Coors Brewers Limited has partnered with Williams Lea, a leading provider of Corporate Information Solutions, to manage and drive innovation through its Point of Sale (POS) print spend in the UK.

Following a review of its current contract with the incumbent, the three year deal, commencing on 1 October, will see Williams Lea assume responsibility for Marketing and Sales POS print. The business review aims to provide superior service, value and drive innovation in the highly competitive FMCG market.

Aside from the cost benefits of the outsourcing deal, Coors is looking to standardise processes across its business and leverage marketing innovation and technology from Williams Lea’s vendor-independent print outsourcing division.

“We understand the current pressures manufacturers of consumer-related goods are facing. Differentiation is paramount to business success, but this has to come from every stage in the supply chain”, said Miles Toulson-Clarke, Board member at Williams Lea. “By working alongside Coors’ marketing team, we plan to draw on each other’s market experience to create an unrivalled marketing print offering that will bring Coors closer to its customers,” concluded Toulson-Clarke.

“We selected Williams Lea as they clearly understood the market we operate in, our business challenges and they demonstrated the proven global experience to add value to a business of our size and complexity,” said  Hector Taylor, Head of Strategic Sourcing at Coors. “Every business has to work smarter and challenge the way it operates and Williams Lea gave us the confidence that we could collectively achieve this. Beyond the harder benefits, they also articulated clearly that there is a strong focus on people development, something that is mirrored in our organisation.”
