Tim joined Williams Lea from NatWest in 1984 as a management trainee. In 1987 he pioneered the establishment of Williams Lea FM and was responsible for securing the company’s first outsourcing contract with Morgan Stanley in 1988. In 1993, having managed the rapid development of Williams Lea FM as the largest company within the Group, he was appointed Group Managing Director and in 1999 became Chief Executive. Tim went on to lead Williams Lea’s global expansion with a series of transactions including a joint venture with Bowne Inc., the subsequent acquisition of BBS in the US and Asia in 2004 and a recapitalisation involving private equity firm 3i. Having achieved consistent year on year growth in excess of 20%, Tim led the Group’s partial sale to Deutsche Post World Net in 2007 and in the same year acquired The Stationery Office (TSO), H.M.Government’s former publishing division.
